iPads
Goals for use of the iPads:
- Increase student achievement, engagement, collaboration and communication, and confidence with the technology
- Each student will be issued an iPad for them to use for the scholastic year
Student responsibilities:
- Take care of the iPad
- Keep the case on the iPad at all times
- Bring it to school each day
- Avoid food or drink near the iPad
- Shut down and charge it each night
- Be courteous and respectful - not allowed to send anything offensive, abusive or impolite
- Use appropriate language
- Do not share logins
- Use for educational purposes only
- Report any violations of these rules to an adult
Family responsibilities:
- Ensure students don’t share personal information or passwords
- Learn about the technology students are using
- Limit and monitor screen time
- Model good digital citizenship
iPad Insurance:
- This is optional for parents to purchase
- Insurance costs $50 and is valid for the entire school year
- Replacement of the iPad for non-repairable issues costs $349 with insurance
- If insurance is declined, parents are responsible for the full costs of repairs
- This is highly recommended!

How to get your student’s iPad for the 2024-2025 school year:
- Complete the required User Agreement Form
- Review the User Agreement with your student
- Pay for the iPad insurance (this is optional)
Frequently asked questions and answers:
Q: What happens if a student breaks or loses their iPad?
A: Immediately report the loss or damage to the school. Repair or replacement is decided on a case-by-case basis by the insurance company.
Q: What happens if a student is negligent and breaks the iPad?
A: The school will follow the student code of conduct that is part of the student handbook
Q: Can students charge the iPads at school?
A: No - there is not enough space for students to do this. They must be charged daily at home each night.
Q: Can students keep the iPad for next year?
A: Students can keep it for the school year. At the end of the year, it will be returned to the school - similar to a textbook.
Q: Is there a protective case for the iPad?
A: Yes, this comes as part of the kit.
Q: Can students use their own case or decorate it with stickers?
A: No - students must use them as they are issues. No stickers or decorations are allowed.
Q: What if a student forgets to bring their iPad to school?
A: They will not be prepared for class - same as if they forgot to bring a textbook.
Q: Can students bring their own laptops to school?
A: Personal computers will no longer be allowed in school.
Q: Will the school provide keyboards as well?
A: No keyboards will be provided. If you chose, you can purchase a keyboard and stylus on your own. This is optional.
Q: Do all the iPad covers look the same?
A: Middle and High School iPad covers are different.
