Matthew Bieule, a Barry alumnus, obtained his Masters in Educational Leadership in 2014 and is currently a doctoral student at Barry working towards his Ph.D . He has been a mathematics professor and principal at the secondary level for over 15 years. He has overseen curriculum and student services for over a decade. During those years he developed student pathways that allowed students to obtain their bachelor’s degree and associates degree in conjunction with their high school diploma. He truly feels that each student academic pathway is unique to that student. His educational core values focus on three pillars of learning: Relationship, Relevance and Rigor. Relationship in terms of learning is the ability to actively communicate and build an authentic educational bridge for all parties involved. Relevance connects the theory to practicum in a seamless manner for our students to obtain mastery. Rigor, once the relationship and relevance pillars are solidified, allows students to synthesize and apply what is being learned on multiple aspects. These pillars are interchangeable based on the needs of the community that is being served but need to synergize to develop a community of life-long learners.
