Yazmin Navarro
Director of Academics and Operations

Yazmin Navarro has over 15 years of experience working in public, parochial and charter schools. She is a graduate from Florida International University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Education and an ESOL endorsement. She was on the Dean's List and was a part of Kappa Delta Pi, an International Honor Society in education.

In January 2007, she began teaching for Miami Dade County Public Schools at Key Biscayne K-8 Center. Here, she had the opportunity to teach bi-lingual education for kindergarten and first grade. After six years, she shifted to the Archdiocese of Miami where she taught for 7 years at Epiphany Catholic School. As a grade level chair, she was able lead the team in weekly meetings, monthly activities, and countless trainings. In August of 2020, she transitioned to Doral Academy. She taught sixth through twelfth grade Spanish and 8th grade pre-algebra. In summer of 2022, she joined the inaugural staff of Mater Biscayne Academy middle school as the department chair for 6th grade math.

Ms. Navarro is an active member of the Kiwanis Club of Little Havana. The Kiwanis are an organization of volunteers dedicated to serving children through service projects and fundraising initiatives. In 2021, she was the rookie of the year for the organization. Her life’s passion has been dedicated to assisting students in their educational endeavors. She strongly believes in professional and personal growth through hard work, collaboration, and determination. She is excited about the opportunity to help students at Mater Innovation Academy succeed in all aspects of life.
